An Incredibly brave little boy showing us all what kindness and determination can truly achieve!

A remarkable young man who is about to take up an incredible challenge.

Eight-year-old Tony Hudgell captured the nations heart during the Covid 19 pandemic. After being inspired by Sir Captain Tom Moore, he decided to walk 10km on his prosthetic legs. He originally hoped to raise a small sum of money and bring awareness to his chosen charity. This he most certainly did. Tony raised over one million pounds for the Evelina London Children’s Hospital, the hospital which saved Tony’s life as a baby. He wished to repay that kindness and helping other children from similar circumstances along the way.

Now, Tony is facing his new challenge head on, the inspiring young lad is going on an expedition to summit Orrest Head! Here in the Lake District. Along with a group of supporters who are there to champion Tony as he tackles his latest bid to raise money for four charities.

Fix the Fells, The Bendrigg Trust, Crohn’s & Colitis UK and the Tony Hudgell Foundation are his chosen charities this time. Tony believes in helping ‘children have a better tomorrow’. This challenge may once have seemed impossible, but he now takes it in his stride.

Tony, a double amputee has never let that hinder him from chasing his goals. A lot can be learnt from this young man, how anything is possible and, with enough determination, bravery, and a positive outlook on life you can make a huge difference. What an accomplishment at so young an age.

As Tonys challenge is here in the Lake District, Mountain Goat jumped at the opportunity to support Tony whilst also being able to show him and his family some of the spectacular spots in the area.

’We are delighted to be supporting Tony on his first climb of his Lakeland Fell to summit Orrest Head, he’s an inspirational little boy to us all. We are really looking forward to showing him around our beautiful Lake District and he can make some lovely memories whilst he is here”.
